WHO: Libya’s Coronavirus tests are well-conducted

The World Health Organization (WHO) said that the laboratory testing procedures for Coronavirus that are taking place in the laboratories of the National Center for Disease Control in Libya are well-constructed.

WHO’s comment came after an inspection visit to the laboratory for community health of the National Center for Disease Control and after monitoring the mechanism to conduct tests on suspected samples of the Coronavirus inside it.

The World Health Organization also praised the performance of technicians working in the laboratory, noting that they are well trained in examining laboratory samples.

Meanwhile, the Communication and Health Information Committee of the National Center for Disease Control said that the test that takes place inside the laboratory is” Real TIME PCR “recommended by the World Health Organization.”

“This test only works on the DNA of the virus, which makes the result of the analysis decisive, whether positive or negative, and the test takes only 3 to 4 hours.” The committee added.
