Turkish drone strike kills top LNA commander and his assistant in eastern Sirte

The commander of the Greater Sirte Operations Room, Major General Salem Driaq, and his assistant, Brigadier General Gaddafi al-Sadai, were killed by a Turkish drone strike in eastern Sirte on Saturday.

The Military Information Department of the Libyan National Army announced on its Facebook page that Major General Salem Driaq, the commander of the Sirte operations room, and his assistant, Brigadier Al-Qaddafi al-Sadai, were “martyred” after the drone strike of the Turkish air force.

In the meantime, the Libyan National Army had been engaged in fierce clashes against the armed groups of the Government of National Accord, after the GNA violated the ceasefire on more than one occasion, according to the spokesman for the LNA general commander, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari.
