The United States (US) embassy in Libya called Friday on the Libyan parties to urgently abandon the issues that separate them, focus their full energies on enhancing the health of all Libyans and avoiding the spread of the novel Coronavirus.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the US embassy stressed the importance of rapid response from the economic and technocratic institutions in a spirit of national unity to adopt all appropriate financial and administrative measures to respond to what it described as a “looming health crisis” at the national level.
The embassy reaffirmed its readiness to support all Libyan parties to overcome the country’s health emergency, noting that all those responsible for treating the epidemic – whether patient care, ensuring financial resources, or implementing policies to slow the spread of the disease – should be allowed to carry out their work.
