Libyan Supreme Judiciary Council urges “Al-Sarraj and Al-Kabir” to be more professional

The Supreme Judiciary Council has sent a letter to both the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, after the two persons publicly criticized each other after the closure of the foreign exchange transactions’ system as well as the delay in salary payments to the public sector.

The statement stated that the crisis that Libya is going through makes it mandatory to intervene and say that the rhetorical approach between state organizations must be pursued with sophistication and affection, saying – before that – the two sides of the a certain statement should feel serious and responsible.

The council added that the requirements of the state of emergency and the situation that resulted in declaring it to face the Coronavirus pandemic entails giving “the pyramid of the executive branch a unique legal status and exceptional legitimacy.”

The Supreme Judiciary Council mentioned in the statement that was signed by its Chairman, Mohamed Al-Hafi, that he hoped all parties would stop the escalation, exchange of accusations, saying he would like to see them rise to the level of the circumstances and work with the spirit of one team to overcome the crisis.
