The Acting UN Special Envoy Stephanie Williams said that Libya is turning into a “testing ground for all types of new weapons”, with both sides of the war sending weapons and fighters.
Williams said in video statement that weapons imported from abroad had fueled the new wave of fighting, according to Reuters.
“We have something called the Pro-A, which is a type of thermal system used in the southern suburbs of Tripoli,” the UN envoy said.
“We have new drones transported there, including a supersonic plane that explodes upon collision.” She added.
Williams said these are just two examples of very frightening systems being deployed on an urban site, which is totally unacceptable.
