The Kremlin said that Russia supports the political settlement of the crisis in Libya through a political and diplomatic process as the only way to end the conflict in the country.
The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “In Moscow, we remain convinced that the only possible solution in Libya is through political and diplomatic communication between all parties, especially the parties to the conflict.”
Peskov added that Russia is still in contact with all the parties in the Libya, saying Moscow believes that there are no other ways to solve the Libyan problem.
Earlier, Moscow described the announcement of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar as “surprising”, according to a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry.
