Daglo: Sudan proposed settlement initiative in Libya but Haftar rejected it

Sudan’s Sovereign Council Deputy Head and Commander of the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Daglo, revealed that his country presented a settlement initiative in Libya, but the commander in chief, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, rejected the initiative, stressing that the Presidential Council welcomed reconciliation and settlement.

In his statement, Daglo reiterated that Sudan does not have any forces in Libya, noting that the reports that spoke of the presence of the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces in Libya are incorrect, and that they are seeking to establish peace and calm between the actors in Libya.

The Commander of the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan stated that his country has special relations with Libya, and will not interfere in the conflict between the parties, stressing that he had contacted the Government of National Accord and the General Command to make efforts to return to dialogue.
