Erdogan: Settlement of terrorists in Libya; a plan to make up for losses

Al-Arab newspaper published a lengthy report on the dimensions of the fierce Turkish intervention in Libya, and what its reckless President Recep Erdogan conceals to secure a foothold in the complex Libyan equation and its relationship to the losses that dispelled the Turkish ambitions in Sudan and Egypt.

The report indicates that the fall of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the Islamic movement in Sudan made Libya a “land of dreams” for Erdogan and his Ottoman ambitions in the region, as evident by his decision to raise the level of his military intervention in Libya with all capabilities recently, under the umbrella of his agreement with the Government of National Accord.

Turkey has seen in Libya a strategic starting point to achieve its goals in the region and put pressure on its neighbors, Egypt and Sudan, which have received successive slaps that forced them to freeze their Arab and African plans.

The newspaper stated that “the Turkish regime threw all its cards at once in the battle of Libya, and faster than the pace of the moves that began since the signing of two maritime and security memoranda of understanding last November with GNA, to save Erdogan’s Islamic project from the North African portal.”

The newspaper cited a spokesman for the Arab Alliance for Sudan, Suleiman Serri, as saying, “The settlement of terrorism in Africa will be through Libya, which is reflected in the smuggling of large numbers of Islamists present in Sudan to Tripoli, and their employment in the war actions led by Ankara.”

He also said that Libya has become a strategic point for Erdogan to support the counter-revolution in Sudan.
