218News has learned from well-informed sources that the Swiss company “Kolmar Group” which was involved in smuggling Libyan oil between 2014 and 2016, hired two underground warehouses in Malta to store the smuggled fuel shipments.
The sources said that the smuggled fuel was transported by truck from the city of Al-Zawiya, west of Tripoli, with the assistance of the Libyan national, “Fahmi Bin Khalifa,” and then loaded onto bulldozers and unloaded in tankers bound for Malta.
The Swiss authorities confirmed the involvement of the company “Kolmar Group” in this case and its relationship to Italian, Maltese and Libyan smugglers. The smuggled oil is eventually sold in European markets.
