Algeria says working on solutions to Libya’s crisis without foreign military intervention

The Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, discussed with the Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune on Saturday in Algeria the latest developments in Libya in the fields of politics, security and military.

According to a statement by Al-Sarraj’s media office, Tebboune said that Algeria “always stands alongside the Libyan brothers.”

The statement added that the talks touched on international efforts to achieve peace in Libya, and the proposals announced by Algeria to support these efforts within the framework of the political agreement and in cooperation with Tunisia and Egypt.

The Algerian presidency pointed out that this visit “is part of the intensive and continuous efforts made by Algeria to resume dialogue between the Libyan brothers to find a political solution to the Libyan crisis that is based on respecting the will of the people and ensuring Libya’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, away from foreign military interventions.”
