Speaker of Libyan HoR to visit Russia, his deputy reveals the agenda

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR ) Aqila Saleh will visit Russia at the beginning of July by an official invitation from Moscow, according to the second deputy speaker of the HoR, Hamida Homa.

Homa added in an interview with “Sputnik” that Sleh and his accompanying delegation will discuss during the official visit the announcement of the Cairo initiative and the conclusions of the Berlin Conference, among other issues.

The second deputy of the HoR said that the upcoming talks will also address the “initiative of the Speaker of the Parliament in an attempt to push for a ceasefire and a return to the political process.”

It is noteworthy that a delegation from the Libyan government and the General Command visited Moscow a week ago and met with the Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, in the presence of the Russian Ambassador to Libya Ivan Molotkov.

They discussed in Moscow the latest military and political developments in Libya, the Libyan-Russian relations, how to implement the “Cairo Declaration” and the Berlin conclusions, the need for a political process, and a permanent ceasefire.
