Newspaper: Turkey sends Yemeni mercenaries to Libya

Intelligence information indicated that approximately 200 Yemenis had arrived in Libya to fight with the Government of National Accord (GNA).

According to the Middle East Monitor newspaper, citing Yemen news portal, militias affiliated with the Islah Party in Marib sent fighters to Turkey under the disguise of receiving treatment in Turkish hospital, and then they were transferred from there to Tripoli.

There is speculation that the Islah Party is trying to form a military alliance with Turkey by sending mercenaries to fight for Ankara in Libya, amid increasing reports of a possible Turkish intervention in Yemen.

Some sources indicated that the Libyan National Army forces had already arrested a number of Yemeni mercenaries who are fighting in the ranks of the GNA.
