Massive protests in Benghazi rejecting Turkish intervention in Libya

Hundreds of Benghazi residents took to the streets on Sunday in a mass demonstration in Al-Kish Square, in which they expressed their rejection of Turkish intervention, stressing their support for the Libyan National Army in combating terrorism and eliminating armed formations.

The demonstrators raised slogans calling for the prosecution of those involved in bringing Syrian mercenaries to fight in Libya, calling on Libyans to stand together against what they described as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s attempt to “occupy Libya”.

A number of civil organizations and city activists had called for demonstrations in all squares of Benghazi and cities of the eastern region in order to reject Turkish military intervention.
