UAE’s Foreign Minister calls for ignoring regional incitement in Libya

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Anwar Gargash, said that “the drums of war are being heard” around Sirte in Libya, adding that they threaten serious development and humanitarian as well as political consequences.

Gargash called in a tweet for “an immediate ceasefire and the prevalence of wisdom, urging all parties to engage in a dialogue within clear international guidelines, and to ignore regional incitement.

In the meantime, the UAE called Monday for the return of oil production in Libya as soon as possible, noting the importance of assurances to prevent oil revenues from prolonging and fueling the conflict.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the UAE confirmed that they will continue the political and diplomatic work aimed to reach a ceasefire and return to the political process in Libya.
