France, Italy agree on need for “limiting” foreign intervention in Libya

The French Ambassador to Italy, Christian Masset, confirmed his country’s cooperation with Italy to establish stability in Libya and reduce foreign interference.

The French diplomat made the remarks in a speech Tuesday, on the occasion of his country’s National Day, and said, “We are together committed to Libya’s stability without foreign interference.”

“We will work together for peace and protection of pluralism. Together, we will work for a broader interaction in Africa.” He added.

It is noteworthy that Libya topped the joint Italian-French talks in the past few days, with conversations conducted by Italian Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerrini and his French counterpart, Florence Parly in Rome, during which the two parties affirmed their joint commitment to “combating violations of the arms embargo to Libya”, as the two ministers stressed the need to “relaunch the Berlin process” for peace in Libya.
