Brigadier Al-Maghrabi denies clashes near Libyan oil fields

The visit of Brigadier Khaled Al Mahjoub, accompanied by Commander of the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG), Major Naji Al-Maghrabi, to the headquarters of the Sirte Oil and Gas Production and Manufacturing Company, showed that the Crescent Petroleum is in a state of stability, according to the Department of Moral Motivation of the Libyan National Army.

During the visit, Al-Maghrabi denied what is being circulated on social media about clashes near the oilfields between Al-Saiqa forces and members of the PFG Saturday, stressing the absence of any foreign forces deployed in the oil fields and ports.

He also said that the PFG forces had not been paid their salaries for 10 months because they had not been transferred from the jurisdiction of the Government of National Accord.

Meanwhile, the Libyan National Oil Corporation published late Saturday, a short video clip that it said showed the moment of clashes between forces of the Libyan National Army, warning at the same time of the presence of mercenaries.

The NOC has revealed a rise in the size of the of export losses since last January to more than 7 billion dollars. During this period, Libya exported one shipment 10 days ago through Sidra port, which went to Italy, which is the largest importer of Libyan oil last year, with an average of 300 thousand barrels per day.
