The Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal Bin Farhan, said during his visit to Cairo on Monday that he had spoken with his Egyptian counterpart, “Sameh Shoukry,” about the situation in Libya, affirming to the Egyptian minister the full support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Egypt’s position in reference to the “Cairo Declaration.”

“Bin Farhan” added that “Saudi Arabia’s position is consistent with the importance of respecting the elements of the Egyptian national security and keeping Libya away from foreign interference.”

The Saudi minister also met before his departure from the Egyptian capital with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, according to the spokesman Bassam Radi.

The spokesman said in a statement that the talks saw the meeting between the Saudi and Egyptian sides on bilateral relations between the two countries in addition to consulting on developments in issues of mutual interest in the region, particularly Libya, Syria, Iraq and Yemen, and it was agreed that political solutions are the basis for solving these issues.
