The Italian news agency “Nova” cited a senior leader at Al-Sumoud brigade, Ahmed bin Omran, as saying that the Government of National Accord shows to the public its hostility to Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, but it is actually negotiating with him.
The señor leader at Al-Sumoud brigade said that their goal of fighting in the ranks of the GNA forces was to “arbitrate Sharia law in Libya and refuse to implement Western laws that oppose Islam in the country.”
Ahmed bin Omran indicated that they see that “the head of the GNA, Fayez Al-Sarraj, and the commander-in-chief of the Libyan National Army, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, are two sides of the same coin.”
He assured that they would not neglect the gains that their forces had made in the western region, which brought them back to the scene.
