Turkish, Qatari Defense Ministers arrive in Libya’s Tripoli

Sources reported to 218News that Qatari Defense Minister Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Attiyah, and his Turkish counterpart, Hulusi Akar, have arrived in Tripoli this Monday morning on an unannounced visit.

The sources indicated that the two ministers will meet with several officials from the Government of National Accord, to discuss developments in the Libyan issue.

The visit of the two ministers, the Qatari and Turkish, coincides with a visit – also undisclosed – by German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, to Tripoli, to discuss several issues with officials in the Government of National Accord, according to an exclusive source speaking 218News.

On Sunday, Mitiga Airport in Tripoli witnessed the arrival of 8 German soldiers with all their military equipment, on board a military cargo plane belonging to the German Air Force, as an introduction to the protection force accompanying Minister Maas during his visit to Tripoli
