Bugaqis afraid of going back to square one, says Williams to leave in October

The Lawyer and human rights activist, Amal Bugaqis, said that the Security Council session on Libya did not deviate from the current situation, stressing that Libya now needs a UN envoy, especially as she has information that Stephanie Williams will leave in October based on her desire for family reasons.

Bugaqis added to the “LIVE” program on 218News Wednesday that the role of the UN mission must be known so that all parties can agree with it, stressing that the recent mission staff has been the best of those previous ones that came in Libya in the past years because they tackled issues with serious work, starting with the meetings and consultations, which were held to find solutions for Libya.

Bugaqis pointed out that the mission brought the world together and forced it to approve the decisions of the Berlin Conference, and these decisions addressed all the points that the Libyans need, which is a new presidential council and one government.

The mission called for facilitating the access of the Libyans to a solution and not to deviate from what the international community needs, and for the mission to be complementary to its predecessors and to not return to the first square.

For his part, Mohammad Ellafi, an activist, said that Williams’ briefing at the Security Council did not touch on the facts, and that the problem in Libya is related to security, calling on Williams to focus on this point and support a unified fair judiciary in Libya.

In turn, the observer of public affairs, Al-Senussi Ismail, said that the Libyan people want an international solution and some kind of internal consensus, with the support of the United Nations, and to persuade the countries involved in the conflict to peace and not to be dragged behind the trap of regional war.
