Morocco hosts dialogue between Libyan parties

The Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita called for making room for dialogue between the Libyan parties, stressing the need to give priority to the spirit of responsibility to reach a political solution to the political crisis.

Bourita’s statements came at the beginning of the opening of the Libyan dialogue sessions in Bouznika, explaining that the Libyans are able to overcome all difficulties, after the conflict on the ground left widespread destruction.

He considered that the Libyan file is not a diplomatic issue or a matter of political disputes as much as the fate of a Maghreb country that should enjoy security and stability, stressing that Rabat will not set an agenda or program for the interlocutors, but rather leave the door open for the Libyans to negotiate and agree to serve their country, in a constructive and positive spirit.

The Moroccan minister asked the delegations of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State not to hesitate as such a thing is the biggest obstacle to success and solution.

“218News” learned from an informed source that the meeting will discuss 3 main items, starting with ensuring a ceasefire, expelling mercenaries and foreign forces from the country, and finally restructuring and unifying state institutions plus reconsidering the sovereign positions.

Morocco has returned to host the rounds of dialogue between the delegations of the House of Representatives and High Council of State, under the auspices of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya headed by Stephanie Williams, after years of interruption, amid rejection by some parliamentary blocs and members of the State Council.

Meanwhile, analysts indicated that these meetings would be the beginning of breaking the political deadlock in Libya for more than a year, and creating negotiation tracks that revive the political track.
