Turkish Air Force plane depicted in Misurata

As part of its escalation steps, Turkey sent an arms shipment to Libya on an “Airbus M400” plane that landed at Misurata airport.

The itamilradar website, which specializes in tracking aircraft movement in airspace around the world, stated that the Turkish air bridge to Libya continues, as a Turkish Air Force plane left Misurata airport on Monday morning after a 4-hour flight from Istanbul.

These violations come in light of global condemnation of the continued violation of the arms embargo imposed on Libya and fueling the ongoing conflict in the country, while Turkey is using its agreement with GNA to pass these weapons.

The US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, had stressed Washington’s refusal to supply arms to the conflicting parties in Libya, calling on Turkey to stop supplying weapons to Libya, saying that this would fuel the ongoing conflict.
