UN Secretary General shocked by many countries’ intervention in Libya

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, expressed his shock at the foreign interference in Libya, as well as the ongoing complete disregard for Security Council resolutions.

“I was shocked by the fact that such a large number of saboteurs and such a large number of countries have interfered with the Libyan situation and strengthened the military capabilities on both sides, in complete disregard for the Security Council resolutions related to the arms embargo or related to mercenaries,” Guterres explained to Reuters.

Regarding the efforts to appoint a new UN envoy to Libya, the Secretary-General of the United Nations stated that with the new structure, the UN will have to present a new candidate, and will naturally have to consult with the Security Council for this purpose.
