Newspaper reveals details of possible agreement of Libya’s “GNA and LNA”

Libyan sources revealed that the Libyan National Army (LNA) and the Government of National Accord (GNA) are approaching an agreement to transform the city of Sirte into a “demilitarized” zone and the capital of the new authority, which is being deliberated recently.

The sources explained to Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper: “There is what she called a principled agreement to make Sirte a green zone without weapons, the withdrawal of all conflicting parties from its surroundings, and the declaration of a permanent truce between the forces of the GNA and the homeland army led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

The Libyan sources, who asked not to identify themselves, described what happened in a political openness between the two parties to the conflict in Libya, at a time when the Libyan parties are working to hold new rounds of political dialogue.

The same sources indicated, to the newspaper, of an “undeclared” Russian agreement, to start the withdrawal of foreign fighters affiliated with the two parties to the conflict, the Government of National Accord and the National Army, and the formation of a mixed force of the army and the Government of Accord with the participation of tribes in the three regions of Libya.

A Libyan official familiar with the scenes of the negotiations described what is happening to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, that the new developments are “a prelude to a great deal of the century in Libya to end the suffering of the state and the people.”

The Libyan official indicated that the arrangements are made through regional and international negotiations, to end the military option to solve the crisis in Libya.

Meanwhile, unofficial sources declared a starting to abolishing the military and security agreements concluded by Turkey with the GNA, according to Asharq Al-Awsat.
