Bouznika understandings: A step for unifying institutions and ending division

Member of Parliament Ibrahim al-Dorsi said that he views Bouznika understandings that took place between the delegations of House of Representatives and the High Council of State in a positive way, given the progress in the political process.

In an interview on the “LIVE” program on 218News, he added that the Bouznika dialogue represents a step towards unifying institutions and ending the political division that has caused major problems that have harmed citizens and made their life conditions much more difficult.

Regarding the regional approach, which has been relied on in the criteria and mechanisms for selecting whoever occupies sovereign positions, the member of the parliament explained that the quota system already exists in Libya and the assembled societies deal with it on the ground as a fait accompli, hoping that it will disappear from Libya soon.

He also shared with some personalities their concerns about not activating the understandings and dealing with them positively when they will be presented to the House of Representatives and High Council of State on the ground, saying there are groups and members of both councils who criticized the dialogue and considered it based on quotas and power sharing, while the two delegations were named by the heads of the House of Representatives and High Council of State, Aqila Saleh and Khaled Al-Mishri.
