Williams: Dialogue in Tunisia is for those who think of Libya’s interest

The Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams, considered that the upcoming dialogue in Tunisia between the two parties to the Libyan conflict in early November, “will be open to leaders who think first of the interest of their country and not aiming to obtain government positions.”

Williams indicated that the goal of this meeting is to reach national elections; praising what she described as the sincere will of the Libyan parties to achieve national reconciliation.

Williams’s statements came after her meeting with Tunisian President Kais Saied, in Tunis, on Monday, where he emphasized adhering to the principles of the Tunisian position regarding finding a political settlement to the crisis in Libya.
