Controversy over names of participants ahead of Libyan Dialogue Forum in Tunisia

The former diplomat and activist in public affairs, Dr. Salha Shteiwi, said that Libyans are afraid that the Tunisia dialogue will be a new model for the Skhirat dialogue, during which the Libyan crisis was complicated by the lack of understanding among the interlocutors.

In an interview on “Live” program 218News, Shteiwi said Tuesday, that the fear of the Tunisia dialogue comes because of the names on the list of participants in the dialogue, saying that most of them aren’t popular because they are the cause of the crisis, and that some of them are supporters of terrorist organizations.

She pointed out that the Muslim Brotherhood caused the loss of the rights of the Libyans, and blamed the United Nations Mission for Support in Libya for choosing this list, wondering about the mission’s goal of imposing these personalities on Libyans.

Shteiwi pointed out that the dialogues took place at all levels from Bouznika to Hurghada to Geneva, and there were political agreements between the High Council of State and the House of Representatives, but fear still haunts Libyans due to the ambiguity and uncertainty as well as the lack of good intention to put forward these names amid the double standards adopted by the UN mission in Libya.
