Bashagha signs MoU with French security firms in Paris

The Minister of the Interior of the Government of National Accord, Fathi Bashagha, began his visit to France by meeting – on Tuesday – with officials of French security institutions specializing in surveillance and identification systems.

Bashagha discussed with the French firm opportunities for establishing partnerships with the Interior Ministry to develop identity verification systems for security purposes in the protection of various vital and civil installations and facilities.

During the meeting, Bashagha signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior and one of these institutions, in the field of developing systems to prepare for election requirements and other security purposes, in accordance with the highest international standards – as stated by the Interior Ministry.

It added that the MoU also includes sensitive video surveillance systems for cities, as it provides smart processing to ensure faster interventions, and to quickly detect any potential threats.
