Turkey prepares to send more mercenaries to Libya

A new group of Syrian mercenaries, loyal to Ankara, are preparing to go to Libya and Somalia, in clear violation of UN resolutions and the Geneva Agreement, which stipulates a permanent ceasefire agreement.

“Sky News Arabia” pointed out that its sources in Afrin, northern Syria, revealed Turkey’s preparations to send about a thousand terrorists to Libya and Somalia.

Turkey’s supplies are currently taking place in three regions, namely “Afrin, Jarablus and al-Bab,” which are areas where there are fighters of Turkmenistan origin who owe allegiance to Turkey. They had previously fought with it against the Syrian Kurds, in what was known as “Operation Olive Branch”, launched by the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan; to consecrate its deep differences with the Kurdish component it is chasing inside Turkey, Syria, and Iraq.

This new Turkish move comes after a virtual session of the UN Security Council, which witnessed the presence of the Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams, and ended with the call for the exit of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya, while the new Turkish moves undermine ways of calm in Libya and reflect a desire of Erdogan, ”in shuffling the cards in Libya, and making this country insecure and unstable.”
