Algerian court sentences 8 men for links with ISIS in Libya

The Criminal Court of First Instance in the Judicial Council of Oran issued a sentence of up to seven years in prison against eight detainees accused of joining the ranks of “ISIS”.

The Algerian newspaper “Al-Shorouk” reported that the defendants were being prosecuted on the grounds of committing felonies of “engaging with“ ISIS ”in Libya, and recruiting people for it using information and communication technology, while preparing for people to travel there.

The charges included “intentionally praising terrorist acts, involvement in misdemeanor forgery and use of forger in official documents, and possession and acquisition of live ammunition of the fourth class without a license.”
