Human Rights body denounces murder and abduction in Benghazi

The National Committee for Human Rights in Libya condemned, in a statement, the extrajudicial killings and kidnappings in the city of Benghazi.

The committee said in a statement that, on January 2, it monitored the finding of the body of the 50-year-old citizen, Abdul Hakim Masoud Muhammad Al-Majbri, in Al-Jalaa Hospital in Benghazi, a week after announcing his abduction, and Munir’s sister from the center of Benghazi, whose fate is still unknown until now.

The committee held the Libyan government’s Ministry of Interior legally responsible for these grave crimes and violations, and called on the Attorney General’s office in Benghazi to open an urgent investigation to uncover the circumstances of the crime and ensure that the perpetrators of these crimes are prosecuted and brought to justice.
