Source reveals to 218News details of oil exports’ shutdown

A shipping source working in the Oil Crescent area revealed to 218News details of the suspension of export operations that were announced by the Petroleum Facilities Guard  Sunday due to the delay in the payment of salaries, and for improvement in their working conditions.

The source said that the ports of Ras Lanuf, Al-Hurriya and Sidra have stopped exporting oil, except for the presence of some tankers that entered the past hours waiting to be loaded and transferred, and new tankers will not be allowed to enter until the status of the Facilities Guard members is settled.

The same source added that the ports of Zueitina and Brega are still operating and will be stopped this evening pending any measures taken by state institutions to solve the crisis of delayed salaries of the employees of the agency and provide them with medical insurance.
