The General Command of the Libyan National Army hailed the results of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum sponsored by the UN mission, which resulted in the election of Mohammad Menfi as the new Head of the Presidential Council, and Abdul Hamid Dbeibah as the Prime Minister of the new government.
In a statement delivered by the spokesman for the Commander in Chief, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, the General Command congratulated Menfi and Dbeibah, saying that Libyans hope for the new officials to “provide services and prepare the country for the general elections due on December 24, according to what has been agreed upon, for the start of the democratic process, building the new Libya state, and the state of institutions and law.
The General Command referred to the “continuous and real efforts made by Stephanie Williams, Acting Secretary-General of the United Nations, which led to the election of the new executive authority that all Libyans aspire to.”
