UN human rights delegation visits Tarhuna to probe Al-Kaniyat violations

The Chairman and members of the Steering Council of Tarhuna Municipality received a delegation of the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya. The delegation met with the Chairman of the Council, Muhammad Al-Kosher.

Al-Koshar held, on the sidelines of this visit, an expanded meeting with the UN human rights delegation, in the presence of the Tarhuna Victims Association; to discuss the situation the Tarhuna municipality is going through.

The violations file took the largest part of the meeting regarding what the Al-Kaniyat group had done over the past years, which Al-Koshar” said were violations by the Libyan National Army over the past year.

The delegation discussed with the members of the administration the file of mass graves, where the Chairman of the Steering Council called on the mission to contribute to supporting the families of the victims by setting up counseling and psychological support centers, especially for children who have been subjected to violations: themselves and their families, in addition to working to support them to overcome the traumas they have suffered during the years Last last.
