Shalgam: Every political step saves lives of thousands of young people

The former Libyan ambassador to the United Nations – writer – Abd al-Rahman Shalgam, said that (the majority of Libyans raise the ceiling of optimism pending the outcomes of the current political process, and this in itself is a positive thing) – referring to the outcomes of the Libyan political dialogue and the Libyans’ waiting for the expected government and the accompanying agreements.

“Shalgam” added in a post on his official Facebook page that “every political step removes the option of weapons and saves the lives of thousands of young people … Politics are humanitarian exercises. What is important is that pace continues without stopping”.

“Shalgam” concluded by saying: “Today’s domestic and international conditions are dominated by the grants of a political solution and the steam of violence recedes .. Politics is more difficult than war and it is the art of dismantling social, economic and even psychological mines .. Civil wars leave residues that have no treatment except for the use of politics”.
