Boukadoum announces upcoming visit by Dbeibah to Algeria

Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum confirmed that the recommendations that emerged from the meetings of the members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum regarding the formation of an executive authority and the conduct of parliamentary and presidential elections, is what the President of the Republic, Abdel Majid Tebboune, confirmed long ago.

Boukadoum explained, in a statement to France 24, that Tebboune emphasized from the outset the need to solve the problem of legitimacy of the leadership in Libya and hold general elections, which is what the members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum reached last November, who agreed to hold general elections on December 24, 2021.

The Algerian foreign minister added, “The directives of the president of the republic that he presented to the Libyan parties a long time ago were the ones that were finally approved.”

Boukadoum continued, speaking about the Libyan file, “There is an upcoming visit by members of the new executive authority in Libya to Algeria,” and that “he received a phone call from the head of the Libyan National Unity Government, Abdul-Hamid  Dbeibah and Mossa Al-Konii, Vice President of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, to conduct an upcoming visit to Algeria.” .
