Two Libyan men arrested in Palermo for money laundering

Palermo port police managed to arrest non-European Union citizens with dual Libyan-Maltese citizenship on charges of committing the crime of money laundering.

The two men were arrested while landing with the rest of the passengers on board the ship, as part of the usual surveillance of passengers and vehicles coming from Tunisia at the port.

Police seized two cars belonging to citizens that were loaded on the ship, CHEVROLET CAMARO, in black, after discovering that they had false documents.

The operators of the Palermo Maritime Border Police office found that the serial number of the chassis was different from the number recorded in the document and that the international registration certificate was tampered with, as it lacked verification seals.
