Dbeibah urges HoR members to work for Libya’s interest over personal gains

The Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, appealed to the members of Parliament not to miss the opportunity to unify the parliament, and to overcome the interest of the country over private accounts, to enable the government to carry out its difficult tasks immediately.

Dbeibah also called on the MPs not to transfer the confidence-gaining procedure to another stage, thus obstructing the electoral process recommended by the Geneva outcomes and preventing the Libyan people from reaching real and fair elections.

Dbeibah said in a speech addressed to Libyans: “We will see the Libyans receive the Coronavirus vaccine regularly as befits them and their dignity,” adding that the new government will act as an army of servants to address the electricity crisis and bank queues.

The prime minister indicated that the path of forming the national unity government was not an easy matter, but rather was full of stumbling blocks, as he described it.

He touched on the complexities of the political scene in Libya, saying that it is made up of personalities with converging and divergent ideologies, and that this is not his creation, and that the Geneva Dialogue mechanism imposed the exit of the government in its current form, in terms of the number of ministers and quotas.”

He continued: “As long as I accepted to enter the political arena; I had to take into account the reasonable balance that would get my country out of its crisis, move it to safety, and stop the extension of the crisis.”
