Syrian Observatory: 6.750 Turkey-loyal mercenaries are present in Libya

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that obstructing the stability of Libya lies in the continued presence of thousands of Syrian mercenaries on its territory, despite international calls for their removal, the expiration of the deadline for their removal, and the political consensus among Libyans.

The Syrian Observatory’s report revealed the presence of 6,750 mercenaries from the Syrian factions loyal to Turkey in the country, and none of them returned to their country, indicating that everything that happened, since mid-November last year until the moment is the exchange of mercenaries, as a group returns to Syria, and then Turkey sends another in its place.

According to the observatory; The “Wagner” company has recruited 2000 Syrian mercenaries it sent to serve Russia’s interests on the Libyan lands in exchange for paying them money, indicating that Russia is playing on the card of the disastrous living conditions in Syria, and it exploited the Syrians’ need to work and secure their daily necessities.

According to the statistics of the observatory; the number of mercenaries who were brought to Libya after being recruited by the Turkish intelligence services, from the beginning, amounted to 18.000, including 350 children under the age of 18, indicating that the number of those who were returned to Syria amounted to about 10.750 after the end of their contracts, while the number of jihadists reached 10.000, 2,500 of whom are Tunisian.
