Tunisian President to pay first visit to Libya

The Tunisian President, Kais Saied, will make an official visit to Libya on Wednesday, the first of its kind since he assumed presidency.

The Tunisian presidency said, in a statement, that this visit falls within the framework of “Tunisia’s support for the democratic path in Libya, building bridges of communication and consolidating the year of consultation and coordination between the leaderships of the two countries.”

The statement added that Saied’s visit to Libya “represents an opportunity to establish new visions and perceptions that reinforce the existing path of cooperation between Tunisia and Libya, and establish comprehensive solidarity that meets the legitimate aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for stability and development.”
