South African variant of Coronavirus detected in Libya

The National Center for Disease Control revealed that the team of virus experts and microbiology technology in the reference laboratory for community health at the branch of the National Center for Disease Control in Misurata, confirmed that two people were infected with the Coronavirus British variant, in addition to the infection of 15 others with South African variant.

This came after the team tested 32 positive samples for the Coronavirus using special “PCR” actuators that work to identify variant strains of the Coronavirus.

These results revealed the outbreak of the British variant and the emergence of the South African variant in Libya.

The presence of these variants in Libya explains the reason behind the rapid spread of the epidemic and the serious exacerbation of the epidemiological situation, and this may explain the increase in the number of cases accompanied by serious complications, and the escalation of the death rate recently.
