Turkey prepares to close Syrian mercenaries’ file in Libya after Ramadan

Turkey is working with the leaders of the armed Syrian factions loyal to Ankara, to end the file of Syrian mercenaries in Libya after the end of the current month of Ramadan, according to the “Step” news agency.

The agency said, quoting its sources, that the ongoing preparations explain the continued state of stopping flights and the exchange of mercenaries between Libya and Syria recently.

The agency quoted military sources as saying that the recent developments coincide with the requirement of most of the faction leaders that the elements receive salaries of only 5,000 Turkish liras (for those who want), for the last months as well as the next, pointing out that the goal of these conditions is “to achieve maximum financial benefit by the leaders of the factions, before closing this file.

“Step” sources stated that the “Euphrates Shield” (Dera Al-Furat) factions of the Syrian opposition, on Wednesday, received from the Kilis border city some of their financial dues after their salaries stopped during the last period.

The “Euphrates Shield” factions received one month’s salary out of about three months late, due to the delay due to the change of all officials, including intelligence officers and Turkish military leaders, from the Syrian file and replacing them with new employees, according to the agency’s sources.
