Erdogan urges NATO to support Libya’s Unity Government

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to provide support for the Libyan Government of National Unity.

Erdogan’s call came during a phone call with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg on Friday, according to the Turkish Presidency’s Communication Department cited by the Turkish Anadolu News Agency.

The Turkish President and the Secretary General of NATO discussed developments in the Aegean, Eastern Mediterranean, Libya and Afghanistan files, in addition to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

Erdogan stressed to the Secretary-General of NATO the need to provide support to the new Libyan government in the areas of defense and security.
