US embassy in Libya calls for reopening coastal road

The US embassy in Libya announced that it stands with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, strongly supports the 5+5 Joint Military Commission, and calls for the immediate reopening of the coastal road.

The US embassy stated on Twitter that reopening the road is an essential step for the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement, which serves as a vital trade link and a necessary supply route for materials such as vaccines and fuel for the benefit of all Libyans.

On Friday, the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, met in Rome with the Italian special envoy to Libya, Pasquale Ferrara, to reaffirm the strong US support for the December elections and the departure of all foreign forces from Libya.
