The Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Libya and the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Jan Kubis, referred a draft proposal on the constitutional basis for the elections to the plenary session of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, Tuesday.
The referral of the draft came after its completion by the legal committee emanating from the forum, following its meeting in Tunis from April 7 to 9.
According to a statement by the mission, Kubis will call a virtual plenary session of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, shortly after Eid al-Fitr holiday, so that the forum can discuss a draft of the legal committee’s proposal.
Emphasizing the full commitment of the United Nations to holding national elections on December 24, the Special Envoy called on the members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum to be guided in their discussions by the spirit of compromise and to place the interests of all Libyans and future generations above all considerations.
