Libya condemns Israeli attacks in Gaza and Jerusalem

The Libyan House of Representatives’ (HoR) Foreign Affairs Committee condemned the targeting of the Israeli occupation forces and their airstrikes into populated neighborhoods in the Gaza Strip in Palestine, which resulted in heavy losses of lives, as the Israeli warplanes renewed their airstrikes on Gaza, early on Saturday morning, and killed at least 12 Palestinians, including a woman and her three children, after their home in a refugee camp was targeted.

The total number of victims on the Palestinian side is at least 132 people in Gaza, since last Monday, including 32 children and 20 women, and 950 others were injured.

The HoR’s Foreign Affairs Committee condemned, in a statement, the Israeli occupation authorities’ storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the brutal attacks against unarmed worshipers, considering this a stirring of the feelings of Muslims around the world, and a flagrant violation of human rights and international covenants, warning of the consequences of these attacks.

The Committee rejected the evictions carried out by the occupation forces to residential neighborhoods in Jerusalem, in what they considered a flagrant violation of international law, calling on the international community to urgently move to condemn the Israeli attacks, put an end to them and stop the attacks on Gaza, before the deterioration of the situation and stopping the violations in Al-Aqsa Mosque and eviction of the Palestinians from their homes, as well as ensuring their right to practice religion and preserve the historical identity of the city of Jerusalem.
