Maltese delegation visits Benghazi to boost joint economic cooperation

During his visit to Benghazi, the Maltese ambassador to Libya, Charles Saliba, and a delegation from the Maltese Foreign Ministry, toured the city’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture to discuss possibilities of joint cooperation between the two countries.

The delegation attended a meeting held on the sidelines of the visit with the participation of a number of Libyan businessmen, in which the problems and obstacles that the Maltese companies operating in Libya had faced in the past were presented in order to revive economic relations between the two countries.

The attendees discussed prospects for joint cooperation in the economic field between the Benghazi Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and the state of Malta.

The ambassador’s visit came to the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture because of Malta’s desire to know the economic situation closely, to consolidate the bonds of friendship between the peoples of the two countries, and to conclude joint economic agreements.
