UN envoy, Turkey’s Foreign Minister discuss latest developments in Libya

The UN special envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, discussed Saturday with the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, the latest developments in Libya.

The discussion between Cavusoglu and Kubis came within the framework of their meeting in the southern Turkish state of Antalya.

Cavusoglu said in a tweet: “We discussed the latest developments in Libya with the UN special envoy, Jan Kubis.”

The UN envoy’s visit to Turkey will last for two days, during which it is expected that, in addition to Cavusoglu, he will meet with a number of security officials.

This visit comes after Kubis revealed, in a briefing he gave on Friday to the Security Council, that the progress in the matter of withdrawing mercenaries and opening the coastal road has been halted; which led to a further division.
