Lavrov: Russia won’t allow NATO tragedies in Iraq and Libya to be repeated

The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, stressed that his country will no longer allow the tragedies caused by NATO, violating human right to life, to be repeated in several countries such as Libya and Iraq.

In a press conference with his Portuguese counterpart, Lavrov stressed that the right to life must remain preserved, stressing Moscow’s rejection of the rude and illegal methods used by NATO in its interventions, but at the same time he indicated Russia’s readiness to resume dialogue with NATO, based on clear grounds, and focus on security issues, not empty talk.

Relations between the two sides have been experiencing tension in recent times, following the increase in the NATO military presence near the border with Russia, as well as Russian military reinforcements on the border with Ukraine.
