US AFRICOM Chief, Al-Haddad stress need for withdrawal of mercenaries from Libya

The Commander of the US Africa Command, General Stephen Townsend, met with representatives of the Government of National Unity and Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General Mohamed Al-Haddad.

According to AFRICOM, the meeting discussed the necessity of the immediate withdrawal of foreign forces from Libya. It also reviewed the ongoing efforts to unify the Libyan military institutions, and discussed the possibility of expanding military cooperation opportunities between Libya and the United States.

It is noteworthy that the meeting was held in Morocco within the activities of the African Exercise Lion 21, which came with the participation of many military leaders in African countries with the aim of building preparedness and building and strengthening partnerships.
